A Veteran's Promise to Serve Maryland

Maryland families are struggling. Rising costs, failing schools, and increased crime are driving our neighbors to leave the state they love.

The career politicians in Annapolis have had their chance. It's time for real leadership from someone who understands service, sacrifice, and getting results.

When it came time to retire from the Navy, I could have chosen anywhere to live. I chose Maryland—specifically Howard County—because I believed in our state's promise.

Now I'm fighting to restore that promise for my son and for all our children.

I didn't spend 20 years defending our country to watch Maryland fail its citizens. These aren't just campaign talking points—these are the real issues I hear from neighbors in Howard and Montgomery Counties every day.

As your State Senator, I'll bring the same no-nonsense approach I used in combat zones: identify the problem, develop a solution, and execute the mission. Here's where I'll focus my fight for District 9:
  • Make Maryland Affordable — Cut taxes and reduce the regulatory burden that's driving families and businesses out of our state
  • Support Our Schools — Empower parents, reward excellent teachers, and get politics out of our classrooms
  • Keep Communities Safe — Back our law enforcement and first responders while addressing the root causes of crime
  • Protect Individual Liberty — Defend your constitutional rights and push back against government overreach

My commitment to you goes beyond party labels and political games. While career politicians protect the status quo that's failing Maryland families, I bring a different approach—one forged through real-world leadership, not backroom deals.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY — After managing a $110 million budget at the Pentagon and leading teams in combat zones, I know how to deliver results and be accountable for every dollar spent.
  • COMMON SENSE — Two decades of solving real problems in life-or-death situations taught me that practical solutions beat political games every time.
  • SERVICE FIRST — From treating wounded warriors on the battlefield to working with communities across Maryland, I've dedicated my life to serving others. That won't change in Annapolis.

Ben supports increasing teacher pay, increasing vocational training programs, and keeping politics out of classrooms.

LOWER THE COST OF LIVING IN MARYLAND

Ben will champion tax relief policies, efforts to expand workforce housing, and cut red tape driving up costs.

SUPPORT FIRST RESPONDERS & VETERANS

Ben will increase PTSD/mental health funding and support property tax relief for those who serve.

SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH

Ben will stand up to the Governor to cut regulations, expand access to grants/loans, and strengthen chamber partnerships.

IMPROVE ROAD SAFETY

Ben supports funding road expansion, the improvement of safety measures at key intersections, and smart development planning.

FUND CRITICAL MENTAL HEALTH & ADDICTION PREVENTION PROGRAMS

Ben will work to support community recovery programs and expand counseling for veterans/first responders.

PROTECT MARYLAND'S AGRICULTURAL HERITAGE

Ben supports Agricultural Preservation and will support Maryland farmers and our environment, including the Chesapeake Bay.
